Duluth & North Shore Golf Trip cost calculator

How much does a Duluth golf trip really cost?

Four rounds split between Giants Ridge's two Iron Range courses, Superior National on the North Shore and a course near town, with two hotel rooms in Duluth, are the plan. Summer hotel rates near Canal Park, a 14.375% hotel tax, pricey flights into Duluth and long drives to Giants Ridge and Lutsen are what push the total up.

Giants Ridge charges $100 in early and late season and $130 from late May to late September, so shoulder is set about 15% off and April and November about 30% off; most courses open in late April or early May and close in October, and every course is closed from December to March, so winter is a placeholder. Twilight is about 20% off, from Giants Ridge's $100 twilight rate. Source

Ways to keep it down

  1. Book the Giants Ridge 36-hole special: both courses, carts, range balls and lunch for $210 on weekdays, against $260 for two separate rounds.
  2. Go in late May or after late September: Giants Ridge drops from $130 to $100 a round, and fall color peaks in late September and early October.
  3. Mix in the city courses: Enger Park is $37 to walk on weekdays and Virginia is $26, so a cheap round or two saves $70 to $100 against Giants Ridge.
